This will be my first attempt at writing an article in two languages. My selfish hope is that it will reach a wider audience and that it will increase my electronic popularity. I listened to the broadcast from Zawahiri in Arabic and I didn’t seem essentially different from Malcolm X’s discourse in terms of his disdain for agents of oppression. Pundits (I won’t use the Arabic term “muthaqif” because it contains in its root “th-q-f” and I don’t see any appropriate comparison between culture and those dressed monkeys and their blabber and their understanding of history which points to an advanced stage of amnesia) always consider Islamicist discourse to be something novel and unique in its threat. But if we were to exchange the word “Mujahadin” with “sons of Africa” or “fight the crusaders” with “fight the white man” then the discourse would be transformed from religious themes to racial themes. It’s just a question of how you choose an ideological axis of resistance to draw the public to your cause. There is no innovation in Zawahiri’s call for resistance. Same misguided anger. Same Bolshevik hatred.
I remember a conversation I had with a guy on the trip to Yemen and he asked me what we should do (as liberal orientalists) in the face of our current situation. Namely the poor choice between neo-liberalism (I would include here liberalism in all its shapes and colors) and the Islamic extremists. At first I thought that it was possible that the extremists were just a gaudy expression of indigenous resistance: like the Sandanistas or the Black Panthers (even perhaps a crude form of liberation theology). If we consider the resistance as part of several different resistance movements etc. etc. But now I am wiser and I recognize post-modernism when I hear it. I refuse these apologetics. The choice between neo-liberalism and the extremists is like the choice between two teams at a football game when you hate the whole mongoloid spectacle. It’s a false choice. I don’t have to hear Zawahiri and try to positively compare him with Malcolm X. This is the threat of post-modernism. It leaves you with the choice between mongoloid ideologies. Foucault supported the Iranian revolution at first. Voila.

مقالِ بلغتان. آملي الاناني هو ان سينبث الى نظارة اوسع و ان سيزداد شهرتي الاليكتونية. استمعت البث من الظواهري بالعربية و لم يبد مختلفاً جوهراً من اي خطاب من مالكوم اكس بنسبة احتقاره لوكلاء الظلم. دائما يعتبر البوندتز (لا استعمل المصطلح العربي "مثقف" لأن ينطوى في مصدره الحروف "ث-ق-ف" و لا ارى اي مقارنة مناسبة بين الثقافة و هؤلاء القرود المتلبسين و بقباقهم و فهمهم التاريخ الذي يشير الى ان يعانيون من مرحلة متأخرة من فقدان الذاكرة ا) خطاب الإسلاميين كشيء مبتكر و منفرد في تهديده. لكن اذا تبادل كلمة "مجهدين" بـ"ابناء افيقية" او تبادل "محاربة الصلبيين" بـ"محاربة البيض" فيتحول الخطاب من مواضيع دينية الى مواضيع عنصرية. هو فقط مسألة ماذا تختير كمحور اديولوجية المقاومة لاستقطاب الجمهورلصراعك. ليس اي اختراع في دعوة الظواهري الى المقاومة. نفس السخط المضلل. نفس محاولة لتبسيط اسباب الانتزاع و لوصفه استعملاَ مفاهيم مانوية. نفس كراهة بلشفية.اتذكر محادثة مع رجل خلال الرحلة الى صنعاء و هو سألني عن ما يجب ان نفعل (كمستشرقون ليبراليون) بوجه موقفنا الحالى. يعنى الاختيار السمط بين الليبرالية الجديدة (اشمل هنا الليبرالية في كل انواعها و الوانها) و بين المتطرفين الاسلاميين. في الاول فكرت انه من الممكن ان المتطرفون هم فقط عبارة مبهرجة عن المقاومة البلدية: مثل السندنيستاس او النمور السود (حتى ان فكرت ان يمثلون المتطرفون نوع غليظ من الالهيات التحرير) . اذا نعتبر المقاومة كجزء من مقاومات متنوعة الخ الخ. لكن الأن انا احكم و اعترف بالما بعد الحداثة عندما اسمعها. ارفض هذا ابولوجيتية. الاختيار بين الليبرالية الجديدة و المتطرفين مثل الاختيار بين فريقان خلال مباراة فوتبال و انت تكره هذا المنظر المنغولية بالكل. اختيار زيف. لا يجب ان استمع الظواهري و احاول اقارنه ايجاباً مع مالكوم اكس. هنا تهديد ما بعد الحداثة. تتركك بالاختيار بين اديولوجيات منغولية. فوكو دعم الثورة الايرانية في الاول.فوالا
