why youtube is banned in Turkey

I asked a co-worker today, and she said very earnestly "yunnanlar oldu. atatürk hakkında bazi çok kötü video yaptılar" (it was the Greeks, they made some very bad videos about Ataturk) Of course, only the lethal mix between a cult of personality and a centuries-old nationalistic fued could get a site as big as youtube banned. Well aesthetic politics be damned, I want to watch cute cat videos!!
